ELK GROVE, CA – The Elk Grove Police Department responded to a robbery alarm at Chase Bank, located at 7427 Laguna Boulevard.

At approximately 3:39 PM, the suspect entered the Chase Bank and approached a teller.  The suspect handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller provided an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect prior to the suspect exiting the bank.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted witnesses who provided a description of the suspect and direction the suspect was last seen traveling. The suspect was described as an African American male, in his 40's, wearing a gray long sleeve shirt or hooded sweatshirt, a baseball hat and was last seen walking towards Laguna Boulevard.

While checking the area, officers located a person walking, that matched the description of the suspect, on Laguna Boulevard just west of Laguna Springs Drive. The subject was contacted and detained by officers. Investigators were able to positively identify the detained male as the robbery suspect. A search of the suspect led to the discovery of the money taken during the robbery. The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Anthony Wright of Sacramento. Wright was arrested and then transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail where he was booked for robbery.
